i'm trying to flash my cooltec 4k using the mingo cooltec loader , but i keep getting connect reciever and turn it on even though the box is on, any help will be greatly appreciated.

what cable ru using null or straight thru,i beleive it uses null cable

Physically there is no difference between the 2 types of cables that are used on the various Receivers. They both have nine pins on each female end.

The only difference between the 2 types is that pins for the Null Modem Serial cable have pins 2 and 3 interchanged. That is to say that the wire connecting Pin #2 on one end connects to Pin #3 on the other end like this:


Null Modem Cable

1 ................ 1
2 ................ 3
3 ................ 2
4 ................ 4
etc.

The other type of Data transfer cable is wired straight thru, like this:

Straight Thru Cable

1 ................ 1
2 ................ 2
3 ................ 3
4 ................ 4
etc.


Null Modem cables are used on Viewsats, Sonicviews to name a few....whereas the Straight thru cables are used on the Coolsat 4000, 5000, 6000 just to name a few.

These cables cannot be interchanged when transferring Data.
