Question Deambox 500 question

I have a 500 and was wondering if it is still usable. I switched to a coolsat a few years ago and now it is pretty much dead. I still have the dreambox but don't know if there are uodates for it and how long they last. I would pretty much be starting over with this box so any help would be appreciated.

The dreambox is alive and well, it should remain so till the HDTV switch over next year. By the way, a dreambox HD receiver is already out on the market.
It is the 8000 model just in case you want to look it up.
All the files and tutorials that you need to get your dreambox up and running are on this site.
The information apart from the bin files is current and up to date.
Just follow the info contained in them and you should be back up and running in no time.

just be careful if you have not had it switched on for a while thats its a real box not a clone as there as been a timebomb(this has only been found in the latest gemini images) virus which bricks clones this attacks the box via the mac address the mac address of real boxes start with 00:09:34 if it dose not start with that then its a copy from china,Dont panic if you have a clone as they are just as good as the real box and you can change the mac address very easily i will attach a program to change the mac address just in case you needed it.Just open ddc use the ftp and transfer it.Then you will find it in your pluggins

Just add to the above post, the clone box killer is only on the gemini image and i suspect it would be on a new original image if one has been released dmm this year.
EdgeNemisis seem to be a stable image.
