Dreambox 7025 programming steps

Hi , ppl , Usually I programme satellite receiver such as Humax , Nokia , Echostar and others After unpacking them from their cartoons by connecting them to the LNBs and selecting Installation and making the necsessary configuration for the satellites such as assigning to the DiSEqC switch numbers , then doing Auto search for the channels for the satellites , and making some organization for the channels such as favorites . But when comes to this Dreambox 7025 receiver the situation is different than the other satellite receivers I mentioned above .
From its user manual I have to do special setups before I do installations such as flashing internal memory , Is this receiver is a computer or satellite receiver ?
Are these special setups necssary I have to do them before I do the istallation or not , Please can anybody elaborate on this receiver .
