Coolsat Setup - It's this simple.

If you like it simple, here it is....Just follow the bouncing ball...Don't do any thinking, just follow the bouncing ball. Takes less than 1 hour, so you can do it over lunch.


Coolsat 4000 – Flashing Procedures


Items Needed:

1 - RS232 Cable
1 - Current Coolsat 4000 134p 20050915.stb bin file
1 - Coolsat Pro Loader v2.2 software
1 – Channels list file – Example…Working5.2_Legacy CoolSat.ndf


Flashing The Coolsat BIN:

1. Turn power OFF on Coolsat with the front button or with remote.

2. Turn OFF rear power switch before making any connections.

3. Unplug the receiver.

4. With all power OFF.

5. Connect RS232 cable from Coolsat to PC.

6. Plug IN receiver.

7. Open the Coolsat Pro Loader v2.2 software.

8. Turn ON the REAR reset switch on back of the Coolsat. Do not turn ON front power button.

9. Browse and find your Coolsat4000_134p_20050915.stb bin file (or current
bin file) in the Open window. Select the Coolsat4000_134p file, then click Open.

10. Click Auto Detect to see if port setting is correct and your Coolsat is detected. If port setting is correct, the Comm Port and current bin version loaded to the receiver will show. If you are not able to connect to Coolsat, Turn the rear power switch OFF and back ON.

11. Click Exit to exit the Auto Detect.

12. Click Connect, another window will open

13. Click Start.
You will see System Reset, Sending %’s, Sending Ok and Erasing the bin. Do not interrupt until the Finish window opens. The Finish window will show the prior version of bin loaded.

14. Click Finish.

15. Click Auto Detect
Current version bin loaded will appear.


Flashing the Channels:

16. Open Coolsat Pro Loader, if not open

17. Click Channels Tab. This will open the Channel List loader.

18. Click Normal Channels.
Do not select the Default Channels option.

19. Browse and find your Working5.2_Legacy CoolSat.ndf channels file (or current channels file) in the Open window. Select the Channels File, then click Open.

20. Click Connect, Start and let it finish. The Finish window shows, click Finish.

21. Exit out of the tool.


Wrap Up:

22. Turn OFF Coolsat with rear reset button

23. Disconnect RS232 Cable from your PC.

24. Unplug Coolsat.

25. Reconnect LNB cable in and cable out to TV.

26. Plug IN Coolsat

27. Turn ON rear reset switch.

28. Turn ON front button and wait for clock to come on. If first time flash
of receiver wait until you see 0000 to show up on clock, and
choose language option will appear.

29. Select Language and then OK.


Setting Antenna Settings for Coolsat Receiver:

NOTE: Use channel up down, volume up and down to navigate through menu.

30. On Remote, Click on Menu. While in installation click OK.

31. When asked for Password, enter 0000.

32. Click OK.

33. On “Dish Setting “window (top window). Select satellite with left or right volume buttons to locate your satellite, when found, scroll down and set
antenna settings using left or right volume buttons to make each selection all the way down the settings.

34. For single dss LNB installation:

lnb=on; lnb type=single; lnb freq=11250; 22Khz=off; and Diseqc switch=off.


35. For two or more single lnbs,

Satellite 119 110
LNB Power On On
LNB Type Single Single
LNB Freq 11.250 11.250
22KHz On Off
DiSEqC Switch 1.0 1.0
Committed 2 2


36. Press Exit to save.

37. Exit out of menu.
