How to convert your dish 500 to a superdish 110 119 121

How to convert your dish 500 to a superdish 110 119 121

...Here is the task, take a Dish 500 dish and convert it to a Superdish 121. This can be done where the signal for the 121 bird is strong (southern US) and also the skew for 121 LNB is nearly vertical. This thread not only destroys the myth that 121 is picked up on a 39 inch dish or larger, but even proves it can be picked up when the LNB is NOT centered but offset as in this post. This is made possible by the dual nature of the invacom LNB (it can pick up 119 and 121 at the same time) and mainly due to its 0.3 db sensitivity. Works awesome, no rainfade whatsoever for me. Here is what you need:
Dish 500 with dual Legacy LNBs
Invacom QPH-031
A nut and bolt to reinforce the LNB Y adapter
Zip ties and double sided tape
Diseqc 4x1 switch

Instructions
Maximize 110 and 119 signal, with proper skew
Remove 119 LNB and attach the mounting screw of the 119 LNB after placing an 3/8 washer at the bottom end, this helps to provide a lip for the Invacom LNB to "rest" on
Connect the Invacom LNB, Linear ports are for 121, Circular ports are for 119, connects via standard diseqc 4 x 1 switch (all 4 ports shown as used for 2 diseqc switches in this setup)
Placing the LNB directly in contact with the 110 LNB finds a 119 signal usually, but probably very poor 121. slight adjustments of the LNB will get 119 and 121 optimized at the same time. Please note at this point best quality on 110 was 97, 119 was 90 and 121 was about 68.....The Invacom LNB was secured in the optimal position, via double sided tape and zip ties, then the dish was once again adjusted to maximize all the signals, 110 quality was sacrificed for increased 121 signal.

My y adapter was used and the small internal supports had broken off and the weight of the invacom lnb made the entire adapter sag slighly so I drilled an offset hole from top to bottom and when I inserted a nut and bolt and tightened, the y adapter became quite rigid and stable. Pictures are attached. Quality readings on CS 5000 are pictured, 121 quality is >87% on all transponders, all 110 and 119 qualities are above 90 with the exception of spot beams, PLEASE TEST and report your results.
