WARNING: Do NOT Hookup DiSEqC switch with Viewsat Powered!! Could Damage Switch
Assumptions:
Using an existing installed satellite dish; it’s aimed at 119 and/or 110 orbital position(s); dish is tweaked to max signal. Basic Things You Need ViewSat2000 Platinum – DiSEqC (not needed if using dishpro Lnb) - Null Modem Cable Computer with a Serial Comm. Port Television set (Tune TV to either Channel 3 or 4--Same Channel as ViewSat STB output is set) If using DishPro Lnb (Has Black Letters DP on Lmb) only one cable is required and it goes straight to Viewsat.
Non DishPro using DiSEqC
Satellite dish & 1 or 2 LNB(s). Hook LNB cable(s) to DiSEqC Port 1 to 119 (E*7); Port 2 to 110 = (E*6, 8)
With 1 LNB: hook directly to ViewSat without the switch OR through the DiSEqC switch, your choice.
With 2 LNB: hook 119 cable to switch Port 1; hook 110 cable to switch Port 2 File: Latest bin program file for viewsat – latest opkey file – Sat file for your satellites File: Loader2
Loading Instructions:
1. PLUG in ViewSat; turn rear POWER switch “OFF”. Connect ViewSat to computer Com1 Port via Null Modem cable (Pins 2 &3 cross).
2. Open the program "Loader2. Click on tool, click on configuration and select the comm. port, Click "Open Files", select “Latest Program bin file_VXX.PGM” to write to the ViewSat.
3. Click PC-->STB, then Power “ON” your ViewSat electric power. (You should see the File loading properly)
4. WAIT! DO NOT TOUCH VIEWSAT!!! It will load the file. After file transfer is complete, the Front Panel will display “inst” for 15 seconds while it installs the software; “End” is displayed for about the next 10 seconds; then “ 00.00 “ . . . . . Front Panel goes to “0000”; you may power “OFF” and hook to TV
5. Connect ViewSat to DiSEqC switch or connect Dish Pro lead which is connected to your satellite dish cables.
6. Plug ViewSat into the wall socket and turn rear power switch “ON”.
To load, sat file, channel list or Opkey. Follow the above procedure clicking on each file. The loader will put them in the proper place

Sort by SID
Put channels in order like Dish (To get them in numerical order (100,101,102,105)

Press “OK” . . . . . 4) Press “DOWN” black arrow remote button 4 times to highlight, “Sort by SID” . . . . . 5) “OK” . . . . . 6) Sorts channels (Sorts in < 1 second) . . . . . 7) EXIT, “YES” to Save” . . . . . 8) ViewSat updates and saves information. “EXIT” to TV screen

Installing new keys

How to Setup the Antenna, LNBs and Scan for Channels for an Experienced User.
Assumptions:
1. Physically verified the dish is tuned to the max signal strength using a satellite receiver box OTHER THAN a ViewSat (i.e. Echo, DTV, Hughes, Sat Finder) 2. One or two LNB setup to receive satellites 119 and 110 3. 119 LNB cable is hooked to Diseqc switch input Sat 1 or Sat A or whatever is first switch port 4. 110 LNB cable is hooked to Diseqc switch input Sat 2 or Sat B or whatever is first switch port 5. If using Dish Pro above steps not required.
6. A single cable is hooked to Diseqc switch OUTPUT or from Dish Pro and into the ViewSat 13/18v jack located in the UPPER LEFT corner of STB when looking at box from the backside LOAD VIEWSAT:
To load latest new program bin file Connect a NULL MODEM cable (pins 2&3 cross) between the ViewSat and your PC. NO POWER to ViewSat yet.
Open "Loader2 Click "Open Files" Browse to directory holding “Latest Program Bin.PGM”, Click on it to "OPEN" Click PC-->STB on your computer screen; then Power “ON” your ViewSat electric power (ON/OFF switch Platinum; plug in Black). You should see the File loading properly. WARNING: DO NOT POWER VIEWSAT OFF UNTIL TOLD! After file transfer is completed, the Front Panel will display: "inst" for 15 seconds while the software is being installed "DONE" for 10 seconds while the ViewSat does housekeeping chores next, the ViewSat automatically reboots.
The display will read “on” and when the reboot is complete, "0000" You may NOW turn "OFF" the ViewSat and connect it to your TV and satellite dish cable
To load, sat file, channel list or Opkey. Follow the above procedure clicking on each file. The loader will put them in the proper place.
SETTING UP ANTENNA SETTINGS:
Used for Legacy and Dish Pro Lmb
MENU -- INSTALLATION -- ANTENNA SETUP Scroll top line (RIGHT/LEFT arrow key) to EchoStar 7 LNB Power ON LNB Type STANDARD (LEGACY LNB) or ("OCS-DPS for PRO LNB) LNB Freq. 11250 22KHz OFF TP Freq. 12224 (Use 2239 if 12224 doesn't show YELLOW signal strength bar--12224 is a Spot Beam TP Search option ALL DiSEqc 1.0 PORT 1 Motor OFF "OK" to REGULAR scan the 119 TP's When finished, note of how many TV and RADIO channels "EXIT" and "YES" to Save. Scroll top line (RIGHT/LEFT arrow key) to EchoStar 6, 8 LNB Power ON LNB Type STANDARD (LEGACY LNB) or ("OCS-DPS for PRO LNB) LNB Freq. 11250 22KHz OFF TP Freq. 12224 (or lowest number if 12224 not available) Search option ALL DiSEqc 1.0 PORT 2 "OK" to REGULAR scan the 110 TP's When finished, note how many TV and RADIO channels "EXIT" and "YES" to Save. "EXIT" to the MAIN MENU. You now have your ANTENNA SETUP for 119 and 110 and you have REGULAR SCANNED your channels in. Both Satellites should give you around 598 Channels and 135 Radio stations. This might differ because of your location and spot beam.
SORT INTO DN ORDER.
MENU --EDIT CHANNELS RIGHT ARROW x 4 to highlight last ICON in list. (The greenish box underneath says: "Sort Channel list") "OK" and DOWN ARROW x 4 to "Sort by SID" "OK"; it's done in < 1 second "EXIT", "YES" to Save "EXIT" until you are back at the TV screen Go watch TV.... and enjoy!
Clone A ViewSat * STB --> STB Data Transfer between VS boxes by teach (Instructions courtesy samdesi) For use in cloning one ViewSat to another. a. Connect the "Master" ViewSat to your TV; Power switch "ON" b. Connect the "Clone" to the wall power; switch Power "OFF" c. Connect the "Master" and "Clone" ViewSats using a NULL MODEM cable d. MENU--INSTALLATION--RECEIVER UPGRADE--ALL INFORMATION e. "OK" and the "MASTER" ViewSat sets up to send data to the "Clone" ViewSat f. Turn the "Clone" ViewSat's power switch to "ON" and the transfer begins NOTE: After the transfer is completed, the "Clone" ViewSat needs up to 1 minute to process the transferred data. Watch the Front Panel on the "Clone" ViewSat. "inst" will be displayed for ~ 15 seconds "DONE" will be displayed for ~ 10 seconds REBOOT will occur automatically without user intervention " on " will be displayed during reboot "0 0 0 0" will show when the "Clone" has finished--no more than 1 minute after data transfer You may now Power "OFF" the "Clone" ViewSat, disconnect the NULL MODEM cable and go use your new Clone ViewSat Remote Buttons= a=f1 b=f2 c=f3 d=f4 e=last button Now look in the manual that came with the box for additional info. To Transfer from Viewsat to Pc
1. Open loader 2 (Caution the transfer files will be written to the directory were loader 2 is located. If any files with same name are in this directory. They will be over written.)
2. MENU--INSTALLATION--RECEIVER UPGRADE. Select item you want to transfer.
3. On loader press STB>PC Transfer will start. Repeat as needed.
