ACA Wants To Fix the USF --- Sends Plan to FCC

ACA Wants To Fix the USF --- Sends Plan to FCC
Packaged as a "Recurring Broadband Investment Fund," the ACA's plan would cap the Fund and restructure it ... worth a look, send an e-mail to Ted Hearn (thearn@americancable.org) for the release and FCC filing. Nice way to get a jump on the issue. --- Is the TV set is the ultimate over-the-top device? Maybe. IMS Research says 25% of TVHHs will have TVs capable of displaying internet video by the end of 2010 ... while some 55% will access to internet video via other devices. --- Earlier today, The Morning BRIDGE carried a bit about Nielsen's latest report; an alarming, for TV execs, follow-up by MediaMemo's Peter Kafka notes that viewership on a TV actually dropped a bit and asks if that's a trend. --- Boxee says it'll have its over-the-top software into a set-top box at retail next year. --- A federal judge has issued an order allowing Mark Cuban to seek internal e-mails and more from the SEC regarding the case against him. --- SES World Skies and SatLink launched a fiber link connecting their teleport facilities. --- 3D-TV Cowboys on biggest TV screen all live and on the fly as the Dallas Cowboys attempt to intimidate the San Diego Chargers while HDlogix reconfigures a live 2D-TV feed. Almost worth tuning into the game just to see. (This Denver-based fan will be rooting for the Cowboys for a couple of reasons; first for the Broncos, second for the SMU-grad who went to their first game in the Cotton Bowl.) --- Sony + Uni-Music + EMI + YouTube = Vevo launch today. --- FLO-TV added ABC Mobile and Disney channels. --- Cox is going wireless in Hampton Roads, Omaha and Orange County. --- All that noise about Comcast/NBC-U being bad for broadcast TV is off the mark ... opposite is true. Higher cable/telco/DBS fees will insure "free" over-the-air TV
