How to Return Your Viewsat to it's Factory State

I have been seeing a lot of issues that could, or have been, resolved by returning to factory state, then starting over. This has fixed every single wierd problem I have had so far with my Viewsat. It is the very first thing I do when I have a wierd issue. I also do this when I upgrade from one bin to the next, while it's not needed it seems to work well for me so far.

I am sure this info has been covered a bunch but I did not see it plainly labeled while searching so I made this thread.

Files Needed:

1.Factory Bin for your reciever, make sure to get the one for your model of Viewsat, Use 2051 for the Platinum, and 2061 for the Extreme.

2. Loader 2 (you should have this if you were able to load files before)

Once you have the files:

1. Do A factory default by pressing the menu button on the remote, then selecting installation, then choosing factory default. This will erase your channel info, antenna settings, etc.

2. Power off the Viewsat with the switch in the back.

3. Connect the Viewsat to your PC using the cable that came with your Viewsat.

4. Open loader 2, and make sure the com port settings are right for your PC.

5. Select the factory bin you wish to write

6. Hit the big PC->stb button, then turn on the power from behind the Viewsat.

7. Wait for the Viewsat to finish and go back to 0000.

At this point your Viewsat should be exactly how it was when you unboxed it. You are now ready to start over and reload the bin files.

Where to go from here:

For instructions on how to load all the files once you have gone back to factory condition, check the viewsat discussion section.

For a good video instructional on how to use loader 2 go to the viewsat discussion section

I hope this helps!
